I have done Okra in many different ways. You wiil find three different ways of cooking Okra in the Vegetables section and they all ends up successfully and tastes so good. Choose your favourite recipe, and give the other ways a try too to find out which one is closest to you and your family. 

Ingredients:  

1 Kilo Okra / 2 Big onions, minced / 4 Garlic cloves / Natural Ghee / 2 Vegetable flavouring cubes (recipe in 'Other recipes' section) / 1 Jalapeño / 250g small size cubed meat / 1 Litre tomato sauce / 1/4 Tsp ground cloves / 1/2 Tsp ground cardemom / 1 Tsp 7 Syrian spices  / 1 Tbsp red or white vinegar / 1 Tsp Salt / 1/2 Tsp Pepper / 1 Cup broth & more if needed / Juice of one lemon 

Taqulia :

10 Garlic cloves, minced / A bunch of fresh coriander / 1 Tsp ground cumin / 1 Tbsp ground coriander / Natural Ghee

Method: 

In a medium pan over medium heat. put the onions with the ghee and the Jalapeño and stir until the onion are translucent. Add the meat cubes, stir until it turns brown then add the spices. 

Return the Okra and add the the tomato sauce, stir to combine and put the vinegar and broth. Cover and simmer over low heat until the Okra softens. Season and keep over low heat to prepare the Taqulia.

In a side egg pan, lightly fry the garlic in the ghee until light golden. Put the ground coriander followed by the fresh coriander. Stir well and add it to the Okra. Mix well with the Okra, and finally add the lemon juice.

Serve hot with white rice or bsladi bread.
