The traditional way for cooking Okra is to fry it first, yes fry it ! This is how it's cooked in certain slum areas. So if you have cooked okra before, or haven't, you must try out this way. Its a WIN WIN recipe. 

Ingredients: 

1 Kilo Okra - 3 Tbsp olive oil  - 3 Tbsp Ghee - 3 Onions, finely diced  - 1/2 Kilo Minced Meat - 1 Green bell pepper - 4 Tomatoes, cut small cubes - 4 Garlic cloves  - 1 Tbsp Tomato salsa - 1 Tsp Salt - 1/2 Tsp Pepper - 2 1/2 Cup Broth or boiling water  - A Bunch of Fresh Coriander - Juice of one lemon. 

Method: 

In a medium Pan over medium heat, add the oil and ghee and fry the okra by stiring it well until fully coated on all ssides.Remove from the pan, and let aside in a seperate plate.

Add the onions and stir until translucent, then the meat, and stir until it turns brown, Put the green pepper, tomatoes, garlic, salsa, and season. Mix to combine, and return the okra.

Put the broth to cover the okra, and add the coriander bunch on the top. Cover and simmer until the okra gets tender. Finally, add the lemon juice, 

Serve hot besides white rice or baladi bread and salad.
