Sablée
We all admire jam sablée all year long, and it's also widely made as part of the Eid cookie selection. I assure that home made ones are way better than the ready bought. Made with only two components, this recipe is suitable for Vegan, Keto, and Plane Based diet.
Dough Ingredients:
2 Cups Flour (plain or vegan)
1/2 Cup Sunflower or coconut oil
Pinch of salt
Jam of your choice (I used orange jam)
Powder sugar For garnish (optional)
Method :
In a food processor, put the flour, salt, and oil. Mix well, cover with cling film or put in a plastic bag, and chill for al least 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 180*c
Place the dough between two parchment papers, and roll out the dough using a rolling pin to a 5-6mm. Cut out the cookies using a cookie cutter, and make others with holes to serve the other ones. Arrange them on a lined baking tray. Bake for 15 minutes until lightly golden. Let cool, and start assembling the sablée by putting a small amount of jam in the middle and putting the holed one obove. Garnish with pawder sugar if desire.
